    A couple cutting boards

I made these up over the past couple nights. Mostly maple, with bands of purpleheart and walnut, and cherry on the larger one. The smaller one is about 8-1/2 x 11-1/2 while the larger is roughly 12x19. The finish is mineral oil as suggested by many people here.

Nice job. Matt. They make a nice set, and both are good, usable sizes. My only warning is to not let too many friends see them, or else you'll be so busy making cutting boards for them you won't have time for any other woodworking. DAMHIKT

I have done so much with so little for so long I am now qualified to do anything with nothing......

P.S. If you are interested in plans for any project that I post, just put some money in an envelope and mail it to me and I will keep it.

They are roughly 1-1/4 to 1-1/2" thick. I started with the stock at 1-1/2" and ran them through the planer until they were flat on both sides, then my drum sander to get rid of any tearout.

The smaller one is going to my dad, the larger to my wife. I'm sure I'll be making more as the rest of the family sees them. I'm thinking they'll make good gifts for Christmas this year.
