Thank you Scott; There's not much going on on the boat building thread on this site?

I have never built one, but have thought it would be fun to build a canoe or small sailboat one day.

I want to build another canoe & power boat it's just not the right time for me now; they are great fun to build if you have the time and fund$.

Beautiful canoe! I've built several strip canoes but never added the artistic touches. Good thing too. The last one I built for a "friend" and he ended up painting it.

Oh yeah, those Chris Craft boats are awesome. It would be a great project.

BTW - I love the "hand of the maker" on the front of your canoe.

Thank you Doug the hand is the Native American symbol for vision quest; But I like your Hand of the Maker as well.
The Power Boat will have to wait until I have more time & ca$h and hopefully a bigger shop!

Absolutely gorgeous canoe. I built one many years ago but nothing to match yours.

Your canoe is impressive! How does it paddle? I've spent lots of time paddling. I met a similar canoe one day in Algonquin Park but the makers discovered they had only 1 & a half inches of freeboard and unless the lake was dead flat they tended to sink! They sure looked pretty as they sank!

She sits 6" or better above the water at the lowest point w/ me 260 lbs and my honey 135 lbs. we had her in the bay on a windy day w/ no troubles.
Other than the wind made it hard to keep her going in the direction we were heading.

Great looking canoe!!!!!!...I remember when you were posting about just starting one.... it reminds me of the one I built quite a few years ago.... only one suggestion if you are ever going to build another one.... I would go a little bigger than 16"...... mine was 16'...
