    Bowl rest

Anyone have plans for a bowl rest, I would love to have a copy. Just can't see paying $$400 for a carter.
Thanks in advance. You can pm me if you have something and I'll send you my email address

Are you asking about a "bowl steady?" For bowls (instead of hollowed vessels), you might want to consider the Oneway bowl steady, or build something similar. They run around $110.

You didn't say whether or not you weld or wanted something made of wood. Google "wood lathe steady rest " for plenty of ideas.
Shop made knock off of the 0neway https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5pwuyo7X0
Another open type of rest https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=474&v=MZvBHn5Wp5s
3 wheeled open type for use with a hollowing laser https://woodbowlsandthings.wordpress...e-steady-rest/ go to bottom of the page.

I know the voices in my head aren't real but boy do they come up with some good ideas !

The shop knock off of the Oneway would not be as adjustable as the real thing. On the Oneway both wheels are independently adjustable unlike the knockoff where they move together. The Oneway steady is cheaper if you buy it from Lee Valley than it is from Oneway.
