    Live edge coffee table

Here's a live edge coffee table I've been working on for a few weeks. It was made out a slab of elm. My first big project as an amateur. I figured it was time to step up from cutting boards and try something a little more challenging. Finish is danish oil with a few coats of water based acrylic to protect the top. Floating mortise and tenon joinery.

I built a router sled out of some angle iron and blocks of oak. Used the driveway as it was the most level surface I had big enough for the top. For the router, I used a 1 3/4" Freud double flute straight bit to take as much out as I could each pass.

    Richard,

That is a very nice looking table. I have always liked a live edge table. I doubt you are an amateur, from the looks I would say your a Professional. I also like your leveling technique. Thumbs Up.
