Mortise and Tennon For Chalkboard Signs

    Hi,
I've been doing a mortise and tennon joint for our framing on our chalkboard signs(Chalk It Up Signs) and I'd be interested in how other do theirs. Mine are done completely on a table saw with an adjustable blade that I set at just over 1/4 inch, which is the thickness of our signs material. Here is a link to our company's chalkboard framing page to give an idea of what I'm up to. I get pretty good quality but I'd like some ideas to speed up or use a different method.
    Many Thanks, Dave

Does the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" apply here? It sounds as if you're able to meet your production needs with your current process. The only thing I can think of that would help to speed things up considerably would be through the application of a different joinery method, like the Domino/loose tenon, but then there'd be related equipment costs and ramp-up time for learning and then refining your techniques.

Nice work, and a cool niche business BTW!
