I don't know what I am doing wrong!

I finished my new wood shop yesterday and my wife took some pictures. I have the pictures on my computer but when I try to upload them, they upload and then it says sawmill creek upload failed. Any ideas?

just try again and see if its work - we would love to see your pictures
On the serious side - first you need to choose file from your computer to the site, second to upload it.

You must drastically reduce the size of the files you want to post if they are coming directly from a digital camera. With the right software, it is possible to reduce the resolution and file size by 75% or more without compromising the perceived quality of the image. I use an image editing program to do this (Photoshop) but I believe there are simple and free programs to do this if that is all you need.

Michael, the problem is often that the image size being uploaded is too large. Below is a chart showing the maximum file size of different file types that the forum software will accept.

This link has some good info on how to post pictures:

Bruce has you covered. VBulletin's error messages are not real informative on failure. Size is the most frequent offender. I use PixResizer (free) and have for almost a decade. I use 800 for the largest dimension and pictures always fit.

I had the same issue, Paint comes installed on my laptop.

Just right click on your picture, and see what comes up on "open with", then, downsize the pixels and save it. As has been said, I choose around 500 by 800 pixels. Then i drag them to the desktop, then upload. Piece of cake.

An easy way to reduce them, is to email them to yourself. You can usually pick the size you want to send...
Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...
