Please recommend a hand saw for burl harvesting

    Hey all,

I've tried a few saws for this, but they didn't quite cut the mustard. My only real requirement is that it can fit in my backpack.

    Silky Gomboy 270 Medium
    Silky Gomboy 300 Large
    Silky Bigboy 2000 X-Large (finer than G300)

I was thinking the Katanaboy is going to be the ticket, but before I dump any more money on tools I was hoping to poll you experiences folks for your opinion.

    Thanks!

You might check with the boys that use handsaws (and chainsaws) for a living over on arboristsite dot com.
    NOW you tell me...

You don't say how big the trunks are that you might be cutting. A saw that can fit inside a backpack is kinda small. You might want to loosen that restriction. Folks backpack with skis and ski poles and rifles and other long things. The long things strap to the outside of the pack.
