I picked up a chinese wood tap of about 1-1/4 by 6 or 8 tpi at a junk shop for a couple of dollars. Sharpened up a bit it seems to cut a thread well enough, so I'm thinking to make a thread box to match it. Seems like since I can now make a threaded hole I should be able to add some loading taper and little sharp bits of steel and start cutting threads on dowells to match the threaded holes. It's not that I really need wooden nuts and bolts all that much, but it interests me. Of course, I want to have many conversations about it first and read a bunch of pages about it first. It's a galloot thing, ya know....
