    Box for drill bits

have a nice set of auger bits, to use with the braces I have. They needed a place to "hang out" without getting all dusty..

Made a box out of some 1/2" thick scraps of White Oak. Made a lid out of some Curly Maple scraps.

made a rack out of some metal angles....added some brass plated hinges and a latch..

Hinge side. Bottom is a glue up of more of that 1/2" thick Oak.

Un-hook the latch, open the lid a bit. some of the BLO finish is making the hinges a bit stiff....detail of the rack system

Mesh is the kind used inside a toolbox drawer. Three screws hold each rack. Bits range from 5/16" to 20/16" yep, it be 1-1/4"....

Store bought hinges, latch, and the angle. All else from just scraps in the shop...

Corners were made with through dovetails..

Very nice. Those bits will enjoy living in that box.

Nicely done. Like the angle rack creation. Great way to store the bits.
