What are the best gloves to get for working with steam bent wood? - what type, but also any brands you have used and liked? Thanks!

I've just used leather welding gloves. I think mine are branded Lincoln Electric and bought from one of the Borgs.

I use welders gloves. They lack dexterity, and were the reason a pair of pot holders went missing from the kitchen last time I bent some wood.

The black PVC ones my gets off the lav service truck at the airport where he works. We use them to pull hot pork off the bone when doing a BBQ pig.
Hopefully new ones... I've done that at the airport and it ain't pretty!
Leather welder's gloves seem like they would be bulky, and does the leather get wet through and then conduct the heat through that wetness?
I'm hoping there is something purpose made for this.
Orange dish washing gloves allow one to pull exceedingly hot plates out of industrial dishwashers. Cotton gloves inside would give even more insulation.

Thanks Paul, maybe that's the way I'll go.
Look up "blichmann gloves" used commonly in breweries around the country, they're basically heavy duty versions of the kitchen gloves.
I have never done steam bending, but they do sell silicone gloves that can handle up to 425F temperatures.

As Cort would say: Fools are the only folk on the earth who can absolutely count on getting what they deserve.
Thanks for the ideas. I found the Blichmann gloves locally for $12 at a brewing supply place. Plan on picking them up tomorrow.
