Assembling my own dust collector, choice of blowers

So I am going to assemble my own dust collector and I'm looking at two different blowers. My setup is going to be pretty simple. 6" ducts to the tools, SDD cyclone, blower, then out the wall into a box with a big hepa filter on the bottom.


The two blowers I am looking at are both 220v. One is a Penn State 2hp blower DC250SEMB which I can get for around $100. The other is a 3hp Leeson for about $225. Both have about 12" impellers. The Leeson though I think is aluminum.


Thoughts? I know Leeson is supposed to be a well regarded manufacturer.

I've a Leeson on my Oneida; it's a very solid motor and impeller.
