I finally have a dining table

After putting it off for over a year, I finally got around to building and finishing my dining table. I have to say it was done just in time too because my wife was about to skin me alive for putting it off for so long.

I didn't build the legs since I don't have a lathe nor the experience to turn something like that. The table top is solid maple and is 42"x92".

Table was finished with Java gel stain and 3 coats of oil based arm-r-seal.

Nice table! And beefy too, that one's going to be around for a while.

And now that you've finished that project, you'll have time for making the chairs, a cupboard, side table, linen chest...

Thanks for the kind words guys. I also forgot to mention that the aprons have 2 support strips spaced evenly between the legs length wise to help support the table top.

Mike Ontko, have you been talking to my wife? I swear, she pulled out her "honey build list" right after I said the table was done and started going down the list of things still left to build.

Looks great. I like the big island legs might have to add those to the idea pile.

Ha ha - I think the honey-do list is a natural follow-on, once your prowess in the craft has been demonstrated. It's a curse for sure. Just be careful when she starts to bring in requests from other family members and friends
