    The UV Printer conundrum

    Hello all, long time reader.

Finally made an account and got activated.

I run an engraving company and am in the market for a UV printer.

As it stands now, there is a lot of competing manufacturers and little reviews/long term tests.

We are undecided on 2 units and ill list the why, but if anyone can help steer us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

GoVivid by Romark (yes, that rowmark) (43,000$ USD including freight/install/training)
    - 24x48 (no pass through)
    - no recirculation (scary, common issue with uv printing is clogged heads)
    - 1440 dpi
    - Local service
    - new machine Zero reviews, seen it in operation, pretty impressive
    - no rotary option
    - physically watched it do aluminum and acrylic to near perfection. Cant scratch off the result. mind blown.
    - 1 air cooled UV lamp
    - $100 / 220ml INK (sealed)

Graphics one Go F-24 ($39,000 including everything AND a rotary)
    - 24x48 (pass through)
    - free rotary unit
    - no local service (claims they havent had the need for service since inception)
    - based in Cali
    - 2880 dpi
    - 2 methods of circulation of ink/agitation of white
    - company 16yrs old, machine around since 2013 ish
    - have physical samples of adhesion to stainless, mirror, aluminum, etc (mind blown)
    - 2 liquid cooled UV lamps
    - $100/ Litre of ink (refillable)

Obviously the Graphics one is superior, but has its downsides. My experience with fixing lasers and cnc machines should theoretically suffice with the UV printer, as the motions systems and such are all similar. They do have techs as far as new york, but none in Canada. So i dont think we would be left stranded post sale, but who knows!?.
I have yet to see a review on any of the machines.

Mimaki is out of the question, too many negatives on maintenance.
    Roland is too small
    DCS has its issues

    Thank you for reading.
