Guess I got some more turning to do

A few years ago a crew cut down a massive hazelnut tree across the street from my house.
The cuts have been sitting under my porch since then.

On Friday I loaded it all up and trailered it up to my cottage where my new shop is.
(Ok...a bit weird taking wood from the city to the country, but thats where I get it)

After a few cuts with the chainsaw, I was excited to see that this should be some really colourful inventory.

Although my poor Saab wasn't too happy about hauling a few thousand pounds of wood.
Now I'm looking forward to winter!

Olaf. I hope it is not to far gone! That spault looks overcooked!!

I am afraid Ron may be right. Looks like a lot of white rot there. But, if we are wrong, there sure is going to be a lot of character.

Great looking wood. I'm sure you have dealt with spaulted wood before and know how to work around it.
Looking forward to seeing some of the finished projects.

In the past I've used MinWax wood hardener on sections that are too punky.
Including a few where could poke my finger through.
    Pricey, but works well.

Your new shop in the country has theater seating and an orchestra pit?
