    No Sponsors?

I'm shopping for new hardware for the shop and thought I would use a SMC sponsor via the sponsors page to make sure SMC gets some credit, however the Sponsors page is empty.
Has SMC really gone Sponsor free?

Greg, not sure what is happening but I can see the sponsor page and everyone is listed.

Someone else reported a couple weeks ago that they couldn't see any of the banner graphics on our Sponsors page. I never found out what the problem was but I expect it was a browser issue.

Greg, if you resolve the problem please let me know.

Ok so your "I expect it was a browser issue" got me thinking.

I tested Chrome: no ads; Safari: no ads; Firefox: ads worked; Opera: ads worked.

Sooo, what was it about Chrome and Safari? Well those are the two I use daily and so I have customized to my liking. One of those customizations: Ad Block Plus. Hit the Sponsors page and get 22 blocked ads. Turn off AB+: no surprise, there are all the ads.

    Thanks for the patience!

If you are interested, this might be a good addition for the Sponsors page (at least). An Ads-Block detector and alerter: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/jquery-detect-ads-block/

    Thats for the info Greg.
I should have suspected that it was an as blocker but I didn't connect to that issue since you are a Contributor and you don't need to use an ad blocker here.

I would think that most people using ad blockers just leave them on regardless of where they go.
I use one, and I can still see the sponsors. I guess some are smarter than others.

It is "just on" for all sites unless turned off. It is now off for SMC. ;-)
