    Replacement Dust Collector Bag

I have a Harbor Freight 2 HP Dust Collector with the original 5 micron dust collector bag that came with it (http://www.harborfreight.com/2-hp-in...tor-97869.html) which has a flow rate of 1550 cfm.
I also have the Rikon 62-400 Air Filtration system http://www.woodcraft.com/product/857...r-400-cfm.aspx which has a 1 micron fliter.

I'm thinking of replacing the bag on the HF Dust Collectorwith a 1 micron dust collector bag (http://www.amazon.com/POWERTEC-70001...+Collector+Bag) which I think will fit.

The Wynn 35A model 0.5 micron filter is no doubt a better system, but costs significantly more than the POWERTEC bag.

My concern is whether the POWERTEC 1 micron bag will significantly reduce the flow rate. Your thoughts please.
    Thanks.

I have a JDS 1mic bag on mine. Lined the lower bag with a thick plastic bag.

I have several different baggers from different manufacturers, and my favorite bags are the Woodtek bags.

I replaced the upper & lower 5 micron bags on my Delta DC with Penn State 1 micron bags. It made a noticeable difference. You should definitely ditch the 5 micron bags.

Good idea Myk, think I'll copy that.

Also, I think I may have misled some into thinking I was referring to the lower collection bag. I'm actually talking about the upper filtering bag. Will going from a 5 micron filter bag to a 1 micron filter bag adversely affect the flow rate?

Use a trash can separator, or a Thein baffle on the can.

The woodtek bags are really thick, and not only filter good, but make a better seal under the clamp. One of my baggers is a Grizzly, and I've never been able to get that one not to leak around the clamps.
