Favorite finish for purple heart and maple?

    Hey all!

I'm getting pretty close to finishing my first for-fun piece (versus for money) that will be submitted to a local art auction. Lot's of dedicated buyers!!

    It's a small 15" W x 12" D x 35" H display table. I hope to have pictures upon completion.

My question is what are your favorite finishes for maple and purple heart? I'd really like to show off the contrast between the two.

Any info you could provide would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance,
    -joe

I have used clear lacquer for good results. I like the natural wood color coming through.
