Rough work plane, design input wanted

I had an extra plane iron I picked up a few years back, and wanted to build a plane for rougher work, similar to a scrub plane, but with a lightly cambered iron.

I finished the plane today, at least to a functional level. I will need to redo the wedge, as it just doesn't look right in my opinion, and I don't like the really cruddy job I did of the egg and dart detail.

Most of my design questions center around carving details. I would like to carve the plane, but am strangely drawing a blank. Anyone have any ideas that would look good without making the plane uncomfortable to use? As it is it works very nicely, and is made to fit my oversized hands just about perfectly.

I really like the simplicity of it, The only thing I might do if it were mine is inlay a thin piece of flat brass stock down the length.
