    Footstool

My latest project. A foot stool made from some of the ash tree we had taken down last fall. Another victim of emerald ash borer.

Milk paint, black over red, with diluted Seal Coat between colors, as described by Peter Galbert on his blog. Except he mixes his own shellac from crystals.
Topped with 6 coats of Arm-r-Seal wiped on.
Clamped down gluing leather foot pads on.

Thanks Shawn & Michelle, it was a fun small project with several first for me. Turned parts, milk paint, and working with cane. I didn't worry too much that the turned parts aren't identical. It is not something most look at or would notice once they are assembled.
