    Mike, thanks for the response.
    I asked because I recently made some dovetail boxes with vertical dividers very similar to your shelves and I ended up buying a router to cut the grooves. I tried the hand tool process you mentioned but I was not getting good results. maybe I'll get it somewhere down the road...

    You have captured the soles without resorting to toe nail ing. She will look at you archly and not think of you as a heel.
