Looking for advice on a spindle to use on my home made cnc. I am using a small router now. I see the 2.2kw units, is that too much for stuff like 3/4 plywwod projects?

I have a 2.2KW spindle and it has more power than PC 7518 router

If you're using a small router, be aware that a 2.2Kw will be considerably heavier.

Thanks for the heads up - I see you have a link to JointCam. Are you associated with this venture? I was planning on downloading the app when I have time to tinker with it. I've used Fusion 360 but like CamBam for it's simplicity.
