Medical Tip O' the Day from the Village Idiot

Lately, much of our prescription pills come in plastic containers with tops that make you push down as you turn the lid to open, IE childproof. They are the type where the center section of the cap is a separate piece.

At the pharmacy the other day, the clerk showed us a neat trick. She laid the cap on the counter, pushed down on the center piece until it clicked, and presto....it now screwed on and off without having to push down.

If, like us, you have no small kids around, it does make opening these pill bottles much easier.

If you do have small kids around......disregard this tip.

All the prescriptions from the Walgreens here now come with a dual-mode cap. Put it on one way and it is child proof; turn it around and it is non-locking.
