    Les Femmes

    Hi Y'all
    I just completed these two angels ,carved in eastern white cedar, painted in acrylics, sealed with matte finish water based varnish,they stand 7 " tall

    I've never worked with white cedar, how easy was it to work?

    Hi Mike
    I am no expert on eastern white cedar but some times you run into some really soft pieces and then you pick up another piece an it will be hard to carve, sanding is usually very east by machine or hand, for my final sanding before painting I use a sand-o- flex sander with 320 grit paper, gives the wood a real polished like feel and takes paint quite well. all the cedar i use is air dried.
