Freezing hideglue?

Before my skiing hollidays I had some leftover hideglue. Hot hideglue, allready prepared with water and heated etc. I decided to pop it in the freezer to prevent it from getting moldy. Tonight I want to glue a handle in a plane. Is it possible to use this stuff? I think I read about it, but I kind of forgot where.

We will freeze microbial fermentation samples to -20C before HPLC analysis to denature proteins; after thawing and centrifugation, there will be a small protein pellet at the bottom of the tube. Since hide glue is using proteins for bonding, I would not freeze it. I suspect that it will work to a degree but be weakened.

Peter Galbert talks about freezing it in his recent book. He says to put it in ice cube trays so that you can just remove how much you need. If he says it's ok, I'm inclined to believe it.

I 've got an idea. I will make a fresh batch for my handle and do some testblocks with the frozen stuff.

Make sure your wife doesn't use your blocks of glue in her iced tea!!!
