I had never turned Peach wood before.
This is a small Peach wood communion set.
It just got a fresh coat of WOP - hence the wet look.
I love these colors.

Yes nice color ,does it smell when you were working it?
Good question. I think it is supposed to smell good when turned green. This one had dried out on the ground for quite awhile and had no distinctive smell. I also cut away about 60% of the log before starting to turn.

A few years ago I had to take out a peach tree from my back yard. It wasn't very big with the trunk only about 4 or 5 inches in diameter. I took about a foot of the trunk and put it on my lathe just to take the bark off and make a better cylinder out of it. Before I took it out of the lathe to seal it for drying, SWMBO summoned me into the house for a chore. When I came back about 30 minutes later, that piece had split several times from both ends, and one of the splits was about 3/4 of the diameter deep and all the way from end to end. Never seen anything like it.

I am glad I was given a nice, dry, pre-split piece then.

Wow! Nice Brian! I just got a large end piece of peach from a friend and can`t wait to try it.
I may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
