Dom, that looks great. I need to build something like that, but for ceiling mount so I can get back to running over-blade collection most of the time. I'm going to have to look more closely at your photos, but you essentially have built they kind of retractable setup I want. It would be helpful if you could post another photo with the guard down to the blade but from the side like photo number two in your post. Pretty please...

Yes, there was one blade-contact incident lol. I closed the blast gate for the 6" cabinet port and didn't have the overhead tightened enough - the suction pivoted the guard straight down onto the blade!

The guard can be moved left to right to allow for cross-cuts and narrow rip cuts.

If i was doing it over I would make the side pieces higher so that i could cut greater than 1.75" thick stock and still have the front rubber in contact with the table. Not a big issue for me though.
