I have an older pm2700 and a lot of the components look the same. One positive - 3 speeds as my PM2700 only has 2. Negative (to me) is the control box above the table vs below on the powermatic - when I want to make it a big router table by removing fence & power feeder I have nothing above the table top that might restrict movement of larger items - things like rounding over drawer edges post assembly would be a bit less convenient.

You should be able to swap leads to change the motor direction. You will also want to bring in a 6" line before splitting into two 4". Shapers need a lot of cfm because the cut occurs so far away from the port. Are they made in Bulgaria? I've seen some nice machines come from the old Eastern block countries. Dave

Laguna's "Dealer Exclusive" machines that are sold through third-party channels are either from Taiwan or China.

"Platinum" series are usually re-badged from ZMM Stomana Bulgaria.
