    Question about Millers Falls brace

This weekend I purchased an 12" Millers Falls brace. It seems to be in prime condition, but maybe with one exception. I am not quite sure if the frame has been bend out of line. Is this the normal shape of these things, or has it losts it's original shape?

    It's bent.
Just bend it back to get the chuck and head in line again.
    (or use it as-is)

Thanks Rob. Then I'll get me some leverage to give it a tweak.

The other physical factor that will make the brace not work properly is a loose head that "wallies" around keeping the brace from drilling straight holes. It may be possible to replace ball bearings, lubricate the head, tighten screws...so that it works better.

Luckilly the rest of the brace is in perfect shape. I didn't have the time yet to get around to bend it back in shape, probably a job for the weekend.

Last night I pulled it straight again. It was utterly simple, just clamp it in the vise and pull on the other end. The head is now inline with the bit again.
