What year is my Rockwell 8" jointer?

I just bought this Rockwell 8" jointer Model 37-315 with serial 1714555 I can't figure out what year it's from as the S/N doesn't seem to fit with most references I've been able to find. Also, can anyone tell me about the four threaded bolt holes in the outfeed table? Any help is appreciated.

You should find an answer over at owwm.org wiki on the age, the holes were for a optional guard or a knife grinder I believe

    You can check http://wiki.vintagemachinery.org/Del...alNumbers.ashx
Looks like it could be 1977.

The four threaded holes - where are they in the outfeed table? Possible that the prior owner had a small power feeder bolted to the machine?

It could be, but as you can see, my serial has no dash, it's just a seven digit number... 1714555
I'm not 100% sure what to make of it.

I have checked owwm.org and can't find my exact number there. I did sign up though and am waiting for approval and I will post the question on their forum as well. Thanks for the info on the optional knife grinder. I wonder if those can be found?

Nate ,I know this is an older thread already but i have the same jointer and it has the tapped holes in the outfeed table as well. Dont have a clue what they are for,but it is not a power feeder.

The peace sign means it was made between '74 and '83, so 1977 should be right. I've never seen one without the holes.
