    2 pc crosscut sled?

I was looking at the incra miter express sled and got to thinking why not make a xcut sled in two separate pieces as well. Wouldn't that work? Anything dangerous ?

My question is why would you want to do it that way?

As long as one half does not have a fence, then it would be ok for lighter things. A single-runner sled is convenient, but results in the cut off dropping. The second half of the sled is essentially just there to support the cutoff. It is NOT there to push the piece through the blade. Having two halves, each with its own fence would risk kicking back.

Ran across this one last night. The right side adjusts to fit regular and dado blades: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEkqLns95zE

Regarding the linked YouTube video, I can't decide on what I am obsessed with more, the level of skill and ability, or the apparent level of spare time to work in the shop!
