    Dayton pattern (?) TG hatchet

I bought a pretty well-kept TG hatchet at the antique store Saturday. I'd guess it's a Dayton pattern. I was able to remove and re-hang the 14" handle it came with, but I sawed off the point of the fawn's foot. It doesn't look too old, as it's in good shape and marked "Wear Safety Goggles". It's got it's dings but the poll isn't mushroomed over at all and there are (original?) horizontal grinding marks on both sides of the moderately concave cheeks/bits to the cutting edge. I forgot to weigh the head when it was off, but I'd guess it to be ~1.5 lbs. What is known about TG hatchets and axes?

(Also shown is a pretty cool and very lightweight magnesium or magnesium-aluminum alloy Schick pipe wrench I got Saturday too.)
