    Help With Revolving Live Center

I'm trying to finish several wood handles for some unhandled tools I purchased. One of which is a scraper with a tanged end. I happened to catch a Robo Hippy video and made the three piece sandwich with a cutout for the tang pre-cut in the center board. Now I want to turn it and I don't have a large diameter crown revolving live center like Robo (Reed) does. I do have a Nova live center kit. Would one of the tips provided work? Can I drive it by inverting the stepped piece? The center with a point in the center and small cone on the outside will grab wood on two sides but not four. Any help appreciated:

    Thanks,

    Mike

Square up the end and glue on a block for turning. Turn it off when finished.
Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...

Basically the same idea, but I would cut a small plug, perhaps 1/2 inch long to fit the hole and glue it in place. Then use any center you have.
