    embossed alligator on paper

A new customer asked for an embossing die of a alligator swimming half submerged. I modified an existing 3d model and sliced off what I didn't need. this is for use on heavy paper/card stock. Proper terminology an embossing is a raised design usually created by pressing from underneath. Usually with a two die system (positive and negative). The plate was made ofdelrin 1x3" cut in negative on the cnc. I wet the stock for ease of use and used a rubber pad behind the paper and pressed it on my arbor press. It dried nice and stiff. Turns out paper has zero stretch, so the die is a shallow 0.08" at the deepest part.

Very nice, Nicolas. I work in commercial printing and own a DIY CNC router, so I can appreciate what it takes to make a set of dies like this.
