    Stanely No. 60 Miter saw

Just wanted to share the satisfaction of simple cleanup/restoration of a vintage. I was given this saw some 20 years ago but never used it. Now that I'm doing woodworking with 4-5-6 year old grandchildren (blue bird houses) I saw the need to check this saw out. I must say I was impressed with the build quality, adustability, and materials (steel and cast iron). I am looking forward to its use. Also, I was glad to find the "manual" online.

    Before and after shots.

Congrats on the restoration Dan...nice job. I have an older Stanley miter box as well that I cleaned up, and spent some time sharpening the Disston saw that came with it. I must say, I am also very impressed with it's accuracy...they just don't build 'em like this anymore. I'm sure you'll find yourself pulling it out more and more.
