    Orphan

    Got this block of Avocado from Viable Lumber at the Florida Woodturning Symposium.
    It was "an orphan."
    I decided to leave it square.
    About 18 inches corner to corner.
    Finished with mineral oil (so far)

    Beautiful flow to this George! Great job on keeping the bark. I also like what looks like saw marks on the non-bark edges. Cool effect!

    Yes, the ends are chain sawn as I received them. I thought it would be a nice change for me. I think this might be my second (and largest) "square" bowl.
