Searched quickly for the table you want to build and only came up with this. See the pic at the link. Shaker, trestle, looks like a cherry top and painted trestle.

I like it with the painted trestle, and if done that way, use the most readily available hardwood that accepts paint well. One of those antique looks in two layers of milk paint and rub-throughs would be my choice. Woodcraft carries a nice line of finishes for that under the brand name Black Dog.
