Thread: Three Vases

    Three Vases

A while back I saw a turning by Michael Algiure where he had slanted the top on a vase. I really liked the idea of a slanted top and thought I would give it a try. I had three piece of Tineo that I thought would make a nice trio of vases. The largest is 8” x 3 ¼”, the middle size is 7” x 3 ½” and the smallest is 6” x 3 ¼”. C&C welcomed.

I enjoy them. Like 3 congas. I have not seen the wood before and the color is very nice.

I like them a lot. I hope you don't mind if I "try" to copy.

Beautiful!! If it's okay with you I have a piece of silver maple that I may try and emulate one of your vases.

    Good-looking vases.

Question: were they turned then slant-cut, or slant-cut then turned?

Thanks everyone for the comments. These three pieces were really fun to do. Cutting the slant was a challenge because I cut it after I had completed the turning.

Ricc--you are more than welcome to use these as a model for you. As I said in the original post, the idea was not mine to begin with. Good luck and enjoy.
