    Thanks,Bob. That carpet slide thing makes sense. Interesting about the phantom splay just being on the bottom,I would never have guessed that was it.

    Bill: The slides are approximately 3/4" x 1-1/2" poplar, as shown in the picture. They’re rabbeted 3/8" deep to accept the edges of the glued-in drawer bottom, as shown in the rear-view sketch.
