where to buy step pulley for lathe

I am looking at moving from a 145 frame to a 182 frame motor. That increases the diameter of the motor shaft from 7/8 inch to 1 1/8 inch.

This is for a vicmarc 300. Where is a good place buy this and what is a good brand of pulley to buy for this.

    Thanks
    Michael

  2. Try Motion Industries. They carry all sorts of motors and related things. They service many industries and agriculture. I also googled "step pulleys" and got many pages of vendors.....should not be hard to find.

Can you have a local machine shop rebore your existing pulley to the larger size? That should be a fairly simple operation in a metal lathe.

Step pulleys for multi-groove belts are often custom made; boring out the existing pulley will likely be your best option.
