Porter Cable 690, loose height adjustment clamp?

I just installed a used pc690 into a router table and upon first fringe it up, the router lowered 1/8 an inch in 5 seconds of operation.

I am tinkering with it now... maybe it wasn't clamped completely, or maybe there is adjustment to be made, but I would prefer experienced input before I stand in front of the thing whIle it is running.

Is there a way to tighten the router's adjustment clamp? I see instructions for tightening the plunge base, but not the solid base.

    Thanks.

Look for an adjustment screw on the clamping lever.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night

Loosen the clamp, tighten clamp screw - test and repeat until the clamp snaps shut with a fair amount of force. When I had a 690 I replaced the clamp screw with a ratcheting lever.

Thumb screws for those castings are way under-rated and dangerous.
The LR casting has an over-center lock lever that works.
I use a 6270K14 on the 1001 casting; you'll have to make a square nut to facilitate!
    Nuthin's easy.
