    PA system for woodturner's meeting

Our woodturner's group is looking into purchasing a PA system for our demos and meetings. Does anybody have any recommendations for particular speakers, wireless mic, etc?

Look at getting a single "powered" PA speaker. That will be more than enough volume. You'll need a headset for the demonstrator and a regular mic for meetings and presentations. Samson makes good gear. I would look at the pawn shops and the local music stores for used gear. Loads of wanna be DJ services crop up each year and after they buy new gear, they liquidate it when they close shop. I have seen lots of good gear over the years, like new, for used prices.

No, it's not thin enough yet.

You might also check govdeals.com for amplifier in the search. There may be a municipality locally that is liquidating stuff, and you can get amazing deals.
