Anyone try to make a hand powered table saw like this one?

    I found this:
    http://www.bridgecitytools.com/defau...maker-pro.html
I think it's fantastic and would love to get one, but $1400 is waaaay out of my budget.

Has anyone tried to make something like this?

    Any plans?

I'm about ready to attempt one myself, I think the basic concept of taking a Japanese saw blade and turning it upside down and clamping it then running your piece of wood over it is brilliant!

What's the problem you're trying to solve? It doesn't give you the speed of a table saw.
If you're working on the accuracy/repeatability issues, Jeff Miller has written an article or two on making fixtures for handsaws.

I guess the problem would be accuracy. I think using something like this would be dead nuts on.

Apparently those who have bought those often end up not using them, though they look neat in the demonstrations.

You might reflect that for the $1400.00 for the Bridge City device, you could locate a very nice table saw,if used(I haven't studied the price of new table saws lately. I have my original Clausing.) An actual table saw will do FAR more for you.
