    Mesa boards and LinuxCNC

Anyone use Mesa boards for motion control and BOB and use LinuxCNC at all? I am looking at a 5i25 and 7i76 step/dir daughter board setup for the lathe controller #2 maybe. Will make it easier to switch to servos in the future if I decide to try that. LinuxCNC is desired due to the better handling of threading.
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

I ordered up a 6i25 and 7i76 plug and go package today. The 6i25 is a pci-e card and the 7i76 is a step and direction board for 5 axis and has a spindle encoder input. I will keep you informed of the the driverack retro fit.

I want to thank Co pilot Steven for helping me figure out the lathe Mesa config I will want.

I run a parallel port with a C10 BOB. Some of the older Dells have the port built in. I have an Optiplex. Your project sounds really interesting. The guys on the LinuxCNC forum are really helpfull. They helped me get my stuff running.
