    Thin-Walled, Figured Cottonwood Bowl

Just turned this one on Sunday. 13 inches in diameter, just over 6 inches deep, with walls that are about 1/16 inch thin.

Beautiful wood and so well done. Really like the closed rim. It displays a lot of the figure on the side wall. Thank for sharing.

Yes,beautiful. First beautiful thing that I can recall made of cottonwood. A compelling call to the craft!

  4. What remarkable figure in that grain! Very nice form on that bowl also!

That is stunning wood figure. Great job on turning it. What is the finish?
When working I had more money than time. In retirement I have more time than money. Love the time, miss the money.

Thanks, William! At this point, it is finished with boiled linseed oil. I may also add lacquer on top of that in a month or so, when I'm confident that the BLO has cured.

NIce work Chris! Love the grain in that bowl.
I may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
