    Another lightning pyrography experiment

This is a small cottonwood bowl with a band of lightning pyrography around the rim. About 7" d x 2 1/2" h. It is interesting to learn how to direct and control something that seems uncontrollable.

  2. Interesting how you can direct the flow of the current..........I suppose it is due to the oil and where you put it on a piece?
Remember, in a moments time, everything can change!

Vision - not just seeing what is, but seeing what can be!

It is the baking soda/water solution that conducts the electricity. I brushed it on while still on the lathe to get the dimensions right, then moved it to the pyro rig. I had to refresh the solution on the rim, since the pyrography dries it out pretty quickly, but having the areas previously dampened made it pretty easy.
