    Trim around vinyl floors

One way to treat the edges of a vinyl floor is to run the vinyl up the wall a few inches. It makes a floor that's convenient to mop. However, with vinyl that is made to look like wood or tile, I think it would look odd to do that. What's the best way to trim the edges? Can you run the vinyl up the wall a few inches and glue trim over it ? Or must the edges of the vinyl be cut flush with the wall?

My guess is that the first flooring you discuss is linoleum sheet flooring. For cutting with a knife, I utilize a utility knife with a double sided razor blade. Use a good straight edge as well. Vinyl flooring dulls utility knives quickly. They also make a devise that looks similar to a paper cutter to cut straight. It looks like this:

Cut the tile flush with the wall and use standard floor moulding.
