IMG_0112.JPGIMG_0113.JPGI did a large slab top table 6 years ago. 36" wide by 96" long by 2.5" thick piece of white oak. I was also concerned about seasonal movement with respect to the base. The base was made of some leftover mahogany. My solution was to use a sliding tapered dovetail to attach the base to the top. We set the table base in place, then slid the top on and it has been fine ever since.

Working with large slabs is challenging. Had to call the wife out to the shop any time I wanted to move or flip that beast. When it came time for another slab project, I picked one I could handle alone. (Wife hates coming out to the dusty dirty shop)
