    PC 7529 Depth Stop Slips

    Hello All,

I have a Porter Cable model 7529 plunge router. The depth stop on it always slips. I can't seem to get it tight enough so the depth stop rod won't move. Do any of you who own this router have this problem?

I have the smaller version. Just use a cresent wrench or padded pliers on the knob.
Knob isn't really long enough to get a good grip on it.

I think I got it rigged. I replaced the knob with a nut so I can get a wrench on it. I'm a little dissappointed with this router so far. Besides the depth rod slipping, it's hard to get a template bushing centered. I bought this router last year when they were on clearance at the borg for $99. I guess I can't complain too much although I expected more from a Porter Cable.

I don't know why PC can't get their act together on plunge bases. Seems theres a lot of complaints about those. I have the 690 series plunge base. Very seldom used, but when I do I have to lube the tubes. Lol

I'm happy with everything else I have of theirs.
Yes. As above, Pat has some great stuff for PC routers. I have a number of His sub-bases.
