    G&G Inspired Dresser

I just can't seem to get any time to take some decent pics of this thing. If I wait any longer it will be an antique before I get around to sharing it.

Man, that's a nice project. It looks very high-end.

I am still a train-wreck with a camera but, these came out OK. Thanks for looking.

Beautifully executed piece, Glenn. I made something similar about a year ago (and posted here), so I know how much time and care making a piece like that takes. Is that a waterlox original finish? I use it all the time and love it.

Thanks Bob. It is hard to get Waterlox in SoCal and in fact I have never gotten a hold of it. I would like to try it as many sing its praises. I use an alkyd resin varnish / oil blend that I have become comfortable with over the years.

Awesome work! Could you give a little detail on the top? Does the panel float in the bridle jointed frame? Thanks
Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!

I'm impressed with the finish and wonder if you would mind providing the finishing schedule details.

    Thanks

Correct. Probably more than you asked for but . . . its a standard glued up panel that gets flattened. Then I route a tongue all the way around.

GnG Low CoD (190).jpg . GnG Low CoD (191).jpg

I use blobs of silicone rubber as custom "space balls". The rubber gets squirted in just before assembly.

The frame goes together a bit like a puzzle but, it is not as fussy as it looks. I make some custom blocks to straddle the proud "fingers".

GnG Low CoD (207).jpg . GnG Low CoD (209).jpg

I use old gift cards as shims to center the panel in the frame. There's a fat 1/8" on every edge so, plenty of room for expansion.

Once the rubber cures the panel stays put but, can move with the seasons; the bridle joints get lightly glued.
