    Cockbeading alternatives

Currently ready to veneer drawer fronts on a dresser I am building.

Plan was to do cockbeading however I'm thinking now the overall design of the dresser might look better without it.
Planning to do a mock up to visualize.

Next thought was simple 1/4" edgeband with solid wood.

    Any other alternatives?

I am guessing, but I take it you want to keep the face of the dresser flat? In that case your simple edgeband is a good solution. It still protects the edges of the veneer. Another alternative is a shallow angled step bevel as seen in Edwardian period furniture but that is a definite style that may not suit. Cheers
